Happy holidays! Our team here at International Business Concepts has finally finished off our Thanksgiving turkey, and our office Christmas tree couldn’t shine any brighter. We are knee-deep in the holiday spirit, and the magic of Christmas has got us thinking about the power of gratitude. Recently, we all sat together on Thanksgiving and shared what we are thankful for, but now we want to take this a step further. We want to talk about the power behind these feelings of gratitude. To show appreciation for the events and people in your life is a real sign of growth and leadership. At the end of the day, success is a team effort. In celebration of the holiday season, we are sharing our thoughts today on gratitude!
The definition of the power is gratitude is “the state of being ready and willing to show appreciation and to return kindness received.” In other words, when others do something nice for you, let them know that you appreciate their effort. This is a simple concept that we are taught from the time that we can talk. However, as we age, we tend to take others for granted. That is why we want to take this time to say thank you to our team members, our mentors, and our support systems. Without their combined dedication and loyalty, we wouldn’t be where we are today. Our success as a business has been a team effort, and we are grateful for ours.
Being open about your feelings is not always an easy concept for some people. Don’t feel like you have to wear your heart on your sleeve to get your point across. When someone goes the extra mile for you, say thank you and keep an open mind when they come to you for help. We want you to get comfortable with expressing yourself in a way that works for you. Remember, a strong team needs support, understanding, and attention. If you are looking to be successful in 2020, you need to have a loyal team around you. This is only achieved when you take the time to let them know individually how much you appreciate all that they bring to the table.
Like we said earlier, there is a power to being grateful. Being positive and appreciative is contagious. Your attitude will ripple around the office, affecting all of those in your path. Before you know it, you will be surrounded by happy, uplifting individuals that are mentally prepared to tackle the end of the year and all that the upcoming months have in store. Here at International Business Concepts, we are a family, and we need to let our team members know that we find them worthy of success. We hope that once they understand how we feel, they will spread that joy to those around them.
We hope that this blog and the magic of the holidays has inspired you to reach out and say thank you. Being grateful shows that you understand all that it takes to lead a happy and fulfilled life in and out of the office. Today, we are throwing down a challenge. Tell one person each day leading up to Christmas how grateful you are that they are in your life. Then, watch as everyone that you speak with rejoices and shows appreciation in return!
