Why You Should Choose Sales

Is your nine to five job leaving you feeling stagnant, bored, and uncompensated? Well, we’re not surprised. These positions are known for two things: stability…andddd a glass ceiling. If you continue to do the same things that you have always done, you will continue to get the same results. This is why we are asking you this one burning question. Why haven’t you tried sales? We know that the idea of being in sales can be scary, but the rewards considerably outweigh the negatives. Today, our team at International Business Concepts is going to highlight two perks of the sales industry to show you that success in a sales field is for every personality type, background, and experience level.

The first perk we want to discuss is something that we all not only want but need – money. In a standard nine to five, we are going to assume that the only pay increase that you see is a small annual increase after a manager evaluates your performance. Let’s say that one more time. You only have the option for a pay increase ONCE a year. This is insane to us in the sales industry because our paycheck is a direct correlation to our work ethic. We determine how much money we make because we choose how hard to work. In what other industry can you say that? Don’t keep working paycheck to paycheck because you think that is all you deserve. Bring your strong work ethic to the sales industry and watch your wealth reflect your work.

A second perk is something that most earn but never receive – a promotion. The sales industry is full of people from many different educational backgrounds and personality types. One thing that they all have in common is their work ethic, and this is what sets them on a path that guarantees growth. Look up the CEO of a company that you are affiliated with. It should not be a surprise that they most likely have a background in sales. When you think about it, it makes complete sense. Sales prepare you to communicate effectively, build long-lasting relationships, to think on your feet, and most importantly, to hold yourself accountable. All of these are traits of strong leadership and is why sales consultants are promoted before the regular Joe that goes home every day at five without a second thought to work until the next morning.

Now, you have a decision to make. Do you stay unfulfilled and complacent in your nine to five or do you put your talents to work in the sales industry?
